Republicans officially assumed control of the U.S. House of Representatives this month, and voters now trust the GOP more than Democrats on all 10 of the most important issues regularly surveyed by Rasmussen Reports including the economy, health care, taxes and national security.
The last time voters trusted Republicans more on all 10 issues was late August. But this shows a sharp contrast from two years ago when Democrats were trusted more than Republicans on most issues. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Republicans were trusted more on seven out of 10 issues in December and eight out of 10 in October just before Election Day.
Republicans also have held double-digit leads over Democrats on two of the three weekly Generic Congressional Ballots so far this year.
On the economy, the most important issue to voters, the GOP holds a 48% to 39% lead. These findings have shown little change since early June 2009.
Most Americans continue to lack confidence in the stability of the U.S. banking system and see inflation driving up grocery prices. Most also expect higher interest rates a year from now.
With the GOP-led House likely to vote to repeal the national health care bill this week, voters now trust Republicans more on health care, the second most important voting issue, by a 52% to 38% margin. In December, Democrats had a slight 45% to 43% edge, but it was the first time President Obama’s party had led on the issue since July of last year.

To any GOP leadership reading this: We don’t really trust YOU either. It’s just the democrats have proven they are incapable of governing. The GOP has a short window of opportunity here to reassert themselves otherwise; sayonara.

I'm afraid the GOP can stumble quite a bit and still be better than the Dems.
However, the conservative purists are likely to skin the GOP alive at the first sleight.
Meaning that we are being set up for a choice between worst (dems) and not perfect (gop.)
that ABC/WAPo and CNN polls are complete junk run by dem weasels.
They are trying to say Obama has regained 15% of independents in a month. from 41% to 56%. They are joking. I smell bunk polls purely designed to push Obama up. Gallup and Rasmussen aint buying it.

Do you support insurance reforms, like the ones in the healthcare bill, to keep insurance companies from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions?"
The reality is that currently a lot of people with pre-existing conditions get coverage through their employer. The current stage of reforms have only formed high risk pools which haven't been used by many people because the costs are so high. In between now and full implementation of Obamacare more of these people will lose their employer based coverage, which has cost protections and be dumped into the high risk pools. In the end, I'm betting most of these people will be worse off.
