Addressing business leaders in Louisiana last week, national political pollster Scott Rasmussen said that the GOPs 2012 nominee will not go to a big-name candidate (i.e. Romney, Palin or Gingrich?), but likely someone lesser known, who has experience on the national stage, the News Star reports.
Rasmussen addressed the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry at their annual meeting last Wednesday, weighing in on the political climate and condemning Washington partisanship saying Both parties have worked together for decades to alienate the people.
Any dark horses out there?

Steve King is great. I haven’t heard him even mention possibly running in 2012. As much as I would like that, I would like to see him take out Harkin before he considers a presidential run. Harkin HAS to go!
He’d be my top pick. The others I’d have no heartburn with either.
“After four years of Obummer, voters will be in no mood for someone without a lot of executive experience. That gives Herman Cain the edge.”
Cain is a good man, but his health is quite doubtful. I’m afraid he’s the Republican Paul Tsongas.
Pence, DeMint, Bachmann; not a year of executive experience between the three of them.
Sarah Palin will be our nominee, and she will win in a landslide over Barry Obama.
I like the way you think!
Cain can also succeed in drawing more minority votes than any candidate before him for the Repubs. He breaks it all down thereby allowing minorities, who have been tuned into double speak all their lives, understand. He is VERY respected and the epitome of the southern gentleman. Definitely he could win the south. I think his radio show is national - if you don’t know who he is yet, he’s on at 7 pm EST.
I betting on Palin. I just love her politics.
I never thought of Bachman, Demint or Pence being a dark horse
The New Mexico Governor, Susan Martinez? Is that her name? Has she been vetted?
Trump?
Bite your tongue!
Harkin HAS to go!
AMEN
That was meant as humor! Faint praise. :)
“Trump?”
Trump has a lot of very good ideas and plenty of executive experience, but his past is full of trouble. Divorces, corporate bankruptcies, and many people who feel they were swindled by unscrupulous developers using the Trump name. Trump would be an outstanding choice for either Secretary of Commerce or US Trade representative. President Palin is going to need all the first-rate help she can get.

Nowhere?
Yes.
It could happen....
Not saying he's the answer....just saying.
He may mean Haley Barbour who has his man in the RNC at this very second... Check where the red states are as well...
“I betting on Palin. I just love her politics.”
Me too.
If for some reason Palin decides not to run, I’ll go for Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. She’s a graduate of Glendale Community College, and that will make Charles Krauthammer’s elitist head explode.
I just saw a video on Hannity of her enthusiastic endorsement Juan McLame during the primaries, thank you Sean for refreshing my memory.
Maybe 3-4 weeks ago I heard Steve King himself say that he would consider running in 2012 if he got a groundswell of support. All he needs is a nudge - maybe we should do something to start that nudge?
“It will either be DeMint, Bachmann, Cain or Pence.
The ‘frontrunners’ all stink “
I agree except for the possibility of Pawlenty. Personally I am for DeMint, Pence, Cain, Bachmann in that order. They are all good.
