At first, I see the title and the
Washington Post source, and I'm all, 'huh? The Post?'
Well, folks, let me tell you how the article is structured:
- Mention vote fraud in Illinois by calling it "ballot-stuffing of political lore" then move on
- In a detailed manner, tell the story of how Nixon was involved in arranging/securing government contracts for Howard Hughes
- Emphasize and clearly state how much money Hughes paid Nixon, even translating the amount into 2010 dollars for the reader
- Talk about how the shocking, sneaky moves the Kennedy campaign made were essentially to disclose the Nixon/Hughes back-room deals
- Shield Kennedy by insulating him between any implied malfeasance and some 'disgruntled democrat accountant'
- Mention the accountant got some money, but leave that in 1960 dollars
- Smear Nixon again as unhinged for thinking that everyone was out to get him
- Spend the final paragraphs talking about Nixon's future dirty politics
Yeah, this artical was totally about Kennedy's dirty tricks. LOL.
I am shocked, shocked I tell you by your cynicism regarding the activities of the Kennedys. Did you not know that JFK has been canonized by the Wholly Roamin Church of Massachusetts as St. John of Hyannis, Virgin and Martyr?
Whatever this blessed clan did for us, they did out of love for us, the little people? Why can't you see that?
Ted, rising every morning to run quality control on imported beverages, testing organic pharmaceuticals from Colombia, counseling wayward female youth 'til all hours of the morning, and still able to wake up and bring the Immigration Reform Act of 1965 to the floor, bringing much needed Latino diversity to our fair land, inviting in a hundred million people whom theretofore were only known to Americans in the pages of National Geographic." Jack, our POTUS, was counseling many of those same wayward female youths right in the White House. Devoting as many as two hours per day to our nation's business, despite pressing personal demands.
It is right-wing revisionists such as yourself who are besmirching a sacred legacy, not the Kennedys, of holy memory.
