Tucson Backfires
National Review ^ | 1/17/2011 | Deroy Murdock

Perhaps the most surprising thing about the American Left’s effort to transform the January 8 Tucson massacre from a tragic attack into an indictment of the American Right is how easily their charges crumbled. Had the so-called “Paper of Record,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and other politicians and pundits let Americans mourn this tragic atrocity over last weekend, enough facts about alleged gunman Jared Lee Loughner might have emerged to dissuade hyperventilating liberals from climbing so far out onto the thin branch that swiftly snapped right under them.

“We don’t have proof yet that this was political,” writer Paul Krugman admitted, leading the charge of the Left brigade, “but the odds are that it was.” He continued, “Violent acts are what happen when you create a climate of hate. And it’s past time for the GOP’s leaders to take a stand against the hate-mongers.”

Asked about the September 11 terrorist attack, Secretary Clinton told a town hall meeting in the United Arab Emirates, “We have extremists in my country.” She added that Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, among 19 other innocents, “was just shot by an extremist in our country.”

“If Sarah Palin . . . does not repudiate her own part in amplifying violence and violent imagery in politics,” MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann roared on the night of the bloodshed, “she must be dismissed from politics.”

Cracks soon ruptured this airtight narrative, and the truth emerged.

Rather than a boiling-mad tea partier, Loughner is a registered independent who didn’t cast a ballot last November ... (snip)

Thus, the Left’s dramatic, breathless fantasy — wheeled out literally as this calamity’s victims were being wheeled around hospitals and morgues — unraveled almost as soon as the Left raveled it.

Olberman's Reason Number 12,798. Don't give up, Olberman. There could be a pony in there somewhere.

The shooter was a regular poster on a website called “AboveTopSecret.com” dedicated to UFO’s and faked moon landing missions.

His rants are repetitive and very odd. You can almost see the break in his sanity coming.

Yes, and it is very sad that no one seemed to be able to do anything to help the guy before he exploded.

Once the left finds that out, they will claim him to be a hero. Geesh!

Anyway, it always seems the person doing the finger pointing is always the one doing what they are accusing the other of doing. It's this whole thing "Well I'm thinking it, then everybody must be thinking it." No! Everybody thinks you're an a-hole for even thinking it and accusing someone else of doing it.

From NYT:

“He became intrigued by antigovernment conspiracy theories, including that the Sept. 11 attacks were perpetrated by the government and that the country’s central banking system was enslaving its citizens. His anger would well up at the sight of President George W. Bush, or in discussing what he considered to be the nefarious designs of government.”

Good article. The Left can’t help themselves in their rush to evil. I’d be embarrassed for them if they weren’t to cocky about it.

They know they run the machinations of news media, Hollywood entertainment, the schools, pop music, all the things that create “the culture”. They feel above criticism, and they hate Sarah for her obvious mental health. They jumped to an insane conclusion (Sarah and talk radio drove the shooter) and their man/god Obama essentially backed their accusation with his silence on the topic of finger pointing.

We are witnessing the flailing of a diseased political monstrosity. You either have to cry or laugh. I choose laugh.

This shooting has brought the entire left to expose themselves as the anti-american, marxist, axxholes, that they are. Sarah has served us well by being Sarah and bringing these traitors to admit who they are.

On some level this whole Tucson story annoys me most because its the politicians and political writers making it all about them and positioning themselves and their political rivals in their favored light. They have to make everything about themselves. A sure sign of narcissism.

Did Obama and Co. go flying to AZ when the latest federal employee, a border patrol agent (assumed covered under the same protective laws as the Congresswoman and judge) was shot and killed?

How often has anyone attended a “Memorial” for a survivor while pretty much dismissing those who actually died?

Do all the stories have to refer to “Congresswoman, federal judge, a 9-year old and FOUR OTHERS.” Those nameless “four others.”

Did Krugman, et al. write stories about that border patrol agent since he was, after all, a federal employee?

Why didn’t Michelle Obama publish (if not write) an “Open Letter” to the families suffering the 13 murders in the first 13 days of 2011 in Prince Georges County, MD ... straight out Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House? Or to the families back in Hyde Park who regularly suffer loss from violent acts?

I really do feel for those who died, or were injured, and for family survivors of those killed, but resent the hell out of the pols/pundits who chose to dance or shed crocodile tears on their graves.

Absolutely. I can't figure out how no one could see how disturbed this guy is.

But they were called in to arrest him many times!

They could have done some thing

But someone said “His family fors for the county so there would be more trouble” if he was arrested

WHO SAID THAT AND WHY?

COULD MOM HAVE STEPPED IN TO GET FAVORS? THEN THEY ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE (NOT THE TEA PARTY)

Begrudgingly baried in a CNN article Today:

“Two-thirds say that shootings like the one in Arizona will happen again regardless of any action taken by the government or society.” -CNN Polling Director Keating Holland

=> People get it, generally, despite the best efforts of the corrupt in the media -who still won’t let go.
