This kind of surprises me. I really thought he would get a small bump. I guess their plan to blame the right really did backfire.

I think Rasmussen polls likely voters on pres. approval whereas others poll all adults. That being said, I’m a bit surprised at the result too with all the fawning coverage of the Tucson speech. The “Tucson bounce” doesn’t appear to have registered at all on Rasmussen polling. I guess economy/job picture is so bad, even the left wing media bias can’t make up the shortfall.

I believed the same thing - I thought that Obowsalot would get a pretty good sized bump but I guess more people then I thought were disgusted by the rally kicking off his 2012 campaign.........He’s gone down a point or so every day since that disgusting display........

Interesting data. In general Ras will show Obama with approval ranging between 46 to 47 last month with a spike of to 49 percent once in a while. This is the first I have seen where his approval is at 44 percent. It is still one data point for the month, but we need to wait and see if this is a trend or not.

If that was the best speech of his Presidency and the best he gets is a 44% approval rating, I agree. It is just amazing that 44% still approve.

It shows that there still IS some personal thought left in this country.

Even if that speech was the speech of all time to put to shame all speeches in history, the message still has to ring true with conviction.

That bump was non-existant was’nt it. The public must not believe that crap he sells anymore.

Maybe this will make him think twice about his preachy campaign and not bother.

Hah, shame on them. The jumped the shark all for nothing.

For people who are supposed to be so intelligent, they are pretty darn stupid. One does not become "presidential" over night. If there was a time to be "presidential" and for once act like a Commander-in-Chief, it was in the immediate aftermath of the Fort Hood massacre....or after the attempt of a terrorist to take down an airline on Christmas Eve. That is when he should have been "presidential". To use the Tucson shooting just comes across as opportunistic. The majority of the American people see it for what it is - even if the Fox News panel doesn't.

Its great. Ive been out amongst my friends this weekend and they were NOT Palin lovers and every single one of them were appalled at the way she was treated. They are giving her a second look.

I cannot imagine any person of decency who watched the memorial pep rally who would think more highly of Obama after it than they did before. That was an utter disgrace to the memory of those who died.

“The majority of the American people see it for what it is - even if the Fox News panel doesn’t.”

It would be interesting to see if Fox’s numbers declined any after last weekend. I’ve seen a number of commenters saying that they’re tired of the slobbering, and (besides Megyn Kelly’s interview) the soapbox that they gave to Dupink to spread his propaganda.

It’s pretty sad when David Rodham Gergen on CNN was fairly critical of the speech, while Krauthammer and crew were falling all over themselves to praise it.

First of all, the speech Obama delivered was not given in a heartfelt manner and the American people by a large majority know it no matter what the media and pundit butt lickers scribe or rant. Second, remember his Rev. Jeremiah Wright “civil rights” speech given in Philadelphia. He was hailed as the second coming of Lincoln. Wrong!!! That speech did him no good whatsoever and he has gone down hill from there. In fact, I don’t think objectively, he has ever given a “great” speech. He is far too much of a “cold fish” centered on himself. Third, the economy stinks, gas prices are soaring, no bank is lending money, the public unions are destroying the USA economy with Obama’s help, no foreign country has one iota of respect for America and he is destroying our military, while the “terrorists” have a field day. Folks, that’s the sklinny, like it or not!!! As usual, the state run media does you know down your back and then tells it’s raining. Folks, 2012 cannot come soon enough!!! Obama is toast!!! And....so is his Democrat Party!!!

Rasmussen Daily Tracking Poll - 44% approve

Forty-four percent! - That's still a heck of a lot of arrogant elites, commies, libtards, one-worlders, moochers, black racists and garden variety stupid people.
