Did they criticize Juan Williams for standing up for himself? I don’t think so.

I always heard it was Ronald Reagan what sent all the mentally ill into the streets.

It was the liberals?

I did read One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest....well at the time I thought it was just so darling...the mean “system” giving perfectly normal but thinkingoutsidethebox people lobotomies.

Well dag, two other books my young liberal self once believed as true...THE UGLY AMERICAN...hell I even wrote President Kennedy asking how to join the Peace Corps after I read this tome about unused expressways in Cambodia as old Cambodian women swept with brooms worn down to nubs.

And of course....Carson’s SILENT SPRING...oh how I wept for the raptors and their fragile eggs that would not bear the weight of their incubating mothers.

Hey....it’s why I’m so smart now...I was once one of them.

But serious, I always heard Ronald Reagan put all the crazy people on the street.

“An elegant fool.....lol....how uncivil!!!”

Yes. We can credit the teleprompter for the “deluxe.” When TOTUS isn’t around “simpleton” is more than charitable. We could add a lot more, but we wouldn’t want to upset the delicate Dems. After all, they’re trying so hard to get along with us.

It happened under Reagan but it was pushed by mental health activists who wanted the stigma removed from mental illness and mentally ill people to be mainstreamed back into society.
In other words the libs set the agenda, got what they wanted then blamed Reagan, same old same old.

I am perfectly serious, all this time I thought, oh I dunno, not sure how, but I really thought Reagan put the mentals on the street.

And if, as asserted upthread, it was somehow influenced by One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Next, I’d certainly understand it.

Again, recalling, at that time, that I was a liberal and believed anything. With the caveat that there was NO Internet, Blogs and much beyond ABCCBSNBC to present the “truth”.

Again, again, I really believed THE UGLY AMERICAN and SILENT SPRING cause it never occurred to me that someone would write a book full of lies.

Surely “somebody” was checking on such things. And Dan Rather, hey, he’d never lie to us, would he?

...Carson’s SILENT SPRING...oh how I wept for the raptors and their fragile eggs that would not bear the weight of their incubating mothers.

That's a great example - millions of people ( men, women and yes, even children) have died from mosquito born illnesses so bird eggs 'might' not be as thin? Really, the research on this one was as thin as the research on the Population Bomb, The Club of Rome, Global Warming, Global Freezing, Nuclear Winter, etc, etc.

Then again, how can a person balance the misery inflicted on millions of people who live in the tropics compared to some American liberal feeling good about himself?

Will watch it here now....

Why the Repbs and conservatives trash her is beyond me...what is the point?

Why not back her up on her strengths? If you don’t think she can make it as Pres..well, ok, valid point that some would agree with or disagree..but this slamming her on the right is disgusting.

the right will lose the women’s vote over this crap...the mantra at election time will be Republicans= white angry males...

Just like the idea of Dems and Republicans sitting together at the state of the union address. Clearly this is an attempt to dilute the Republican applause and make the Republican gains less apparent.

You're right - one more reason to elect Tea Party members.

Oh dear lord...the population bomb!

I only have ONE child because I adhered to the notion of Zero Population Growth. I’m bitter as hell now because I sure would have like to have had one more child.

Not that I don’t love my daughter but...hey, two would be better.

I ever see that Ehrlich guy I will not say a single word but shall punch him in the nose first thing.

But hey, you’re right, I felt do damn good about myself and the rest of the world was a bunch of mental boobs who would destroy our planet.

Don’t doubt me , folks. I’m not proud of it, but I know how they think.

Chris Christie is willingly being used by the MSM talking heads to bash Palin, both directly and indirectly. If it became evident that Palin was clearly NOT running, then the knives will come out to slice and dice Mr. Christie. Right now he is a tool.

Excellent idea!!

i just watched Wallace go at Pawlenty and Christie. I thought they both held their own pretty well. Pawlenty may be running more for VP than potus however.

With Christie its hard to tell what he is up to but I doubt he runs.

Once you are on tape that you aren't ready, qualified or experienced enough it's a tough slog back.

If you were to apply all that to zero however it was a huge slam since he was and still is not ready, qualified or experienced enough. Moreover rumors are that he is not in charge but has delegated all(except TelePrompter duty) to Valerie Jarett.

I thought Christie was very honest in response to Mike Wallace’s prodding about a possible presidential run in 2012.

I paraphrase, but he said “one can tell in their soul if they’re ready for such an important job and deep down I don’t feel I’m ready.”

I don’t think he was being coy either. No way he’d be ready, if ever, to run for president in 2012.

Maybe in 2020 or something, if stops being so RINOish, loses weight (come on folks, they’ll skewer him if he’s still so heavy although I’d think it’d be refreshing) and brings NJ back from the brink.

Ehrlich and his stupid lies basically shut down the Nuclear Power industry in the US too. Now we have 'alternative energy' that costs more energy than it produces... A system so stupid only a liberal could love it.

We have him to thank for so much misery. Sorry you're on that list.

I wish you had the other child - I know you had love to give, but the same liberals who told you to have only one were too busy inviting twenty million illegals into the country to feel your pain...

The only damage the Gulf spill caused were the brain cells inside eco-charlatans.

bray always has one killer line in his Sunday post that picks me up no matter how down I am, and this one above was it today.

LOL

Palin/Bachman is a great ticket?

It would get my vote, but maybe too sexist? Probably should have a male in either position. There are a number of NON RINOs that I would like to see run, but probably won't - AND the state run liberal media will once again try and pick the GOP's nominees just like they did with McLame.
