Never mind. Tom’s District is in the Northeast corner of the state, not the Northwest. Wow, I’m totally confused now.

Tom is my congressman. It's the 4th district and his office can't be more than 17 miles from Sacramento (he resides near Roseville, CA at the very southern border of the district.)

He USED TO live in Elk Grove, (and I believe represent a district there)a city south of Sacramento.

Too bad the Bee can't pick up the phone.

The Auburn Dam had more problems than just a budget. The dam was designed, and excavation completed, for a concrete dam. Many engineers were concerned that the site was better suited for an earth-filled dam, including earthquake concerns.

If I remember correctly, the Army Corps. was assigned the construction and they don't do earth-filled. So it has been a government SNAFU for a very long time.
