Robert’s father, “Light Horse” Harry (Richard Henry Lee) was one of George Wsshington’s closest friends. He gave the eulogy at Washington’s funeral and is credited with the phrase, “ First in was, first in peace, first in the hearts if his countrymen..”, (a part of his eulogy).
Thanks to old “Light Horse Harry Lee’’ the Battle of Monmouth(6/28/1778) could have been a victory instead of a draw. He was an ass.
