A proposal by Senator Mark Udall, D-Colo., for bipartisan seating during the annual State of Union address is picking up support. The plan, that would sit Republicans, Democrats, and Independents should-to-shoulder during the President's address, is getting the thumbs up from both sides of the aisle and even right down the middle.

I have a problem with it. The whole point of having sides is to demonstrate the party in power.
It’s another effing RAT trick. The Republicans must not fall for this.
RATS DON’T KNOW HOW TO BE CIVIL IS THE FIRST CLUE.

To be GOVERNED is to be kept in sight, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right, nor the wisdom, nor the virtue to do so. To be GOVERNED is to be at every operation, at every transaction, noted, registered, enrolled, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, trained, ransomed, exploited, monopolized, extorted, squeezed, mystified, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, despised, harassed, tracked, abused, clubbed, disarmed, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and, to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, outraged, dishonored. That is government; that is its justice; that is its morality.

I had never seen this before....WOW!!
I would not even shake the Punk’s hand. We saw what this “new tone” pabulum got us during Bush——defeated. Bob
I’m only in favor of this is they are required to hold hands. And let’s try to make the seating “Boy-Girl”. Barney, you can be a girl.
Many "Republicans" are in fact "dumber than a bag of rocks."
We call them RINOs.
We need to elect more bags of rocks.
How sweet, will they all be wearing “Together We Thrive” t-shirts?
Stupid.
Besides, I like seeing the split with the one side usually clapping and the other not during the policy parts of the speech. It makes it easier for the viewer to see how much support specific proposals have. Also easier to see which members disagree with their party on an issue.
EXACT. WRONG. THING. TO. DO.
Republicans.
You won. SAY IT.
eww...
“I would not even shake the Punks hand. We saw what this new tone pabulum got us during Bushdefeated. Bob”
Either would I ,they should turn their back on that Communist Clown.
Has to be one of the damn dumbest things I’ve ever heard of...
Why not go ahead and let Boehner split time with 0bama and speak too? What a joke....
Dems want to blur the choices and the fact that they lost the election big time. If Republicans don’t leave them on display as a tiny minority, they are more stupid than usual. They also don’t want the public to see the majority of the house not clapping Obama’s socialist nonsense.
I got a problem with it too. It’s a trap to support a visual illusion. What illusion you might say? The illusion that all members of both houses of Congress are in agreement with the Won. How can they achieve this illusion? Think of how many times through the last SOTUA the entire chamber stood on it’s feet to applaud the POTUS. I don’t know what the number was, but now double it at least. If one party stands in approval, the entire body will feel compelled to stand, just as if the guy next to you stands to cheer at a basketball game, you likely will too. The illusion will be a completely unified congress despite what pure garbage the TOTUS is telling the POTUS to spew. I wonder what Joe Willson will be shouting about this year. “You Lie!” didn’t seem to stick last year as I recall. But it was the absolute truth. Don’t expect ANY truth to come out of this SOTUA. It’s all just an illusion.
Spot on.
We have a winner.
Visualize two thirds of the chamber, sitting on their hands the first time Obama gets stupid.
The Republicans are born stupid. That means they’ll probably do this.
Yes, the reason the Left and their hanger ons like Princess want this is because it’ll provide Obama cover. Having near 2/3rd’s of the chamber stand up against the President would not provide a nice visual image for the current President. Stragtegicaly splitting the groups diminishes Republicans.
Idiots.
I say give them the whole damned auditorium. Pubbies should stay away in drives.
We say how Øbongo treated the right last time - do they really want to get sand kicked in their wimpy faces again?!
