Perhaps Ron, like other "progressives" are so disconnected from the philosophy and principles of liberty, as understood and articulated by President Reagan, that he was unable to perceive his father's wisdom and brilliance in political discussions.

One only needs to read the volumes of letters and other personal writings of Ronald Reagan during those years to understand how superior was his grasp of "first principles."

Like many others of his generation, the younger Reagan may have been too much influenced by 19th, 20th, and 21st Century counterfeit ideas, with too little attention to the wisdom of the ages which his father held dear. Perhaps that may explain his willingness to participate in what may be an attempt by some to denigrate President Reagan's contributions during the final years of his Presidency.

My liberal sister probably thinks I’ve dumbed down. Truth is her liberal gambit statements generally just dumbfound me. How do you keep a family relationship cordial and loving and answer their statements of belief that they think are facts?

I suspect Reagan did what I do, just shine it on most of the time.

Once she said something like she thought I believed she was stupid. I finally had a succinct answer, “No, you’re not stupid, just wrong.”
