"This is my bias, but I would argue that as certainly as you see the war, the Democrats have shown themselves no different than the Republicans in their willingness to torture somebody like Bradley Manning even though he has not even been tried at this point," Dylan Ratigan said.

I don’t know anything about torturing that guy, not that a good beating would hurt.

How are they torturing him?
Making him wear flannel shirts and Wrangler jeans?
Forcing him to watch John Wayne movies and drink Budweiser?
Surrounding him with attractive women?
To: i88schwartz
I have to agree with him. Drag Obama in front of the Hague on War Crimes.

If it sounds too good to be true...that’s because it probably is too good to be true.

...though he has not even been tried at this point, Is this person arguing he can be tortured after he is tried?

How are they torturing him? It is being reported that he is not getting soft blankets, want to exercise more and can't watch TV. No joke.

Manning probably likes a little torture now and then.
To: i88schwartz
I do not know who Dylan Ratigan is and I do not know who Bradley Manning is.
How should I feel about my ignorance; good or bad?

They should send someone like Jack Bauer from 24 to torture his ass!

Circa 1981. We had a fellow in our USAF pilot training class who self-eliminated from the course and subsequently went on to become a Titan missile launch officer. It turns out he was a pretty shady character -- Lt Dennis Reimer was accused of robbing the homes of his squadron mates while they were on lenghthy duty in remote launch facilities. Rumor has it, Dennis was put into solitary confinement due to his Top Secret knowledge.
The treatment of Bradley Manning is nothing new.

Good on Dylan not so good on Manning he is the liberal gay guy who gave wikileaks all its intel while he was in the service.

The old British penalty for treason would be about right. The last ten minutes of the movie Brave Heart or the execution scene in Elizabeth could used for instruction.
