Steele's final pitch: 'You won' [& he misquotes his favorite book]

Michael Steele unintentionally said it best himself at a debate for chairman of the Republican National Committee: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times," he said, incorrectly attributing the line to "War and Peace," which he called his favorite book. (It's from "A Tale of Two Cities.")

Today, at a sprawling resort just outside Washington, Steele delivering a speech -- in his capacity as RNC chairman -- was essentially his last pitch to members before today's vote of the 168 committee members who, will determine his fate this afternoon.

"You shocked the world," he told the assembled members, as he delivered the chairman's report on the past two years.

Steele was deferential, crediting members with wins in 2009 in Virginia and New Jersey as well as touting the committee's efforts to take back the House and place John Boehner as speaker.

Of course, Steele once said, "I won" the Virginia and New Jersey races. Today, he said, "You won." And he once said the GOP wouldn't take back the House. "Not this year," he said.

Steele can't help himself from trying to take credit for or to ride the coattails of last November's election victories. Victories, it would seem, he had virtually nothing whatever to do with.

I haven't seen the racial breakdown of the 2010 vote but if there was a huge swing of black voters to the GOP, Steele would have claimed credit for that too.

This time it might be nice to have a GOP chairman whose surname wasn't a homonym for “misappropriate” or “theft”.

DITCH THESE TWO RNC CANDIDATES:

“My record stands for itself. We won,” current chair Michael Steele said. "And the fact that we’re standing here right now celebrating that Nov 2 win says a lot about the record.”

Steele is a damned phony----referencing the Repubs win on Nov 2---as if he was the one who made it happen. We all know Tea Partiers told him, before Midterms, to shut up and do nothing so that the Tea Party could do its work.

Steele is a Rino and kowtows to RNC squatters intent on kicking conservatives to the curb. Steele once said "abortion was an “individual choice” (though, he, himself---a Catholic---is (gag) personally pro-life).

"Abortion is an individual choice” is the RINO's most nauseating phrase. Their infamous "let's kick Repub conservatives to the curb" ploy.

===================================

RNC Chair wannabe Saul Anuzis is a hyphenate----a Lithuanian American born here----who is currently an advisor to the Republic of Lithuania.

We don’t want a hyphenate using the Party to advance the interests of a foreign govt. NO hyphenates, NO way. We want an all-American conservative RNC chair, who salutes the US flag, and bows only to the Constitution of the United States.

Anuzis' biggest claim to fame-----of which he has boasted proudly and endlessly in public forums----that as Michigan GOP chair, he personally forced state and local party organizations to stage "Juneteenth" celebrations (marking the end of slavery). We don't need at the helm of the party someone like Anuzis who diminishes all-American holidays like Independence Day.

Anuzis is also a backer of the National Popular Vote initiative. Anuzis clearly crawled out from under a rock. http://www.thatssaulfolks.com/2010/04/01/national-popular-vote-why-i-support-it/

=================================

REFERENCE Michael Steele has been one of the most ineffective and damaging chairmen the RNC has allowed to lead its chief fundraising organization . His chairmanship is marked by:

1. baffling statements on race and culture (lampooned by the Daily Show)

2. USAToday's own request for his change of parties due to his own conflicted beliefs and history[RINOList.org]

3. two different sex club scandals [Dailycaller.com] & [TheDailyBeast.com]

4. factually inaccurate public statements on the War in Afghanistan [Talkingpointsmemo.com]

5. massive debt in the Republican Party's fund-raising, let me repeat FUND-RAISING, organization [Washingtonpost.com]

6. possible criminal fraud in campaign fund-raising in Michigan [TheDailyBeast.com]

Wannabe Anuzis fits right in with race-hustling, reparation pimps-----b/c he personally forced state and local Repub party organizations to stage "Juneteenth" celebrations. Wadda ya wanna bet Anuzis has a deal with the race-baiters to infiltrate the RNC, and use the org as a money laundry to get million$$ to them?

Saul Anuzis is unfit to be Chairman of the RNC. He is a figgin neocon----and the POS is keeping it damned quiet. Another neo-con with ulterior motives looking out for himself. Anuzis' buddies are the neocon Me-Firsters----Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, Billy Kristol----- and the rest of the 'what's in it for me' neo crowd, who have no visible sources of income.

The pukeneos detest conservatives. They squat in the Repub Party to takeover the agenda, and to kick consevatives to the curb. If Anuzis gets in, this is what we can expect (gag).

EXCERPT-----The Decline and Fall of American Conservatism

The “art of government,” writes neocon frontman William Kristol (Fox talking head and McCain handler), is to translate the “liberal or radical impulse into enduring institutions,” which in a constitutional republic means that neocons want socialist ends to be achieved with conservative means. Now here's the neocon methodology in brief: neocon advice to the Republican Party is to compromise and accept the moral ends of liberal-socialism, but with the caveat that conservatives can do a better job of doling out the goods and services.

Note well who neocons demand compromise from: Conservatives are being asked to compromise THEIR principles. Liberals are being asked ONLY to compromise the manner in which welfare is delivered.

Neocons' moral appeasement serves to embolden the Left........a lesson conservatives need to learn posthaste. Conservatives need to grasp that compromising one principle inevitably leads to hundreds of compromises.

N/C'S SECRET AGENDA? In the neocon-driven conservative relationship, liberalism will always have the upper hand and will always dictate the future. Having abandoned principles, neoconservatives can offer no principled opposition to the creation of new welfare programs in the future. Of course, they would see this as a problem only if they opposed welfare programs, which they do not.

In addition to the Roosevelts----TR and FDR----neocons add Bismarck to their list of statesman-like heroes. According to arch-neocon William Kristol, the “idea of a welfare state is in itself perfectly consistent with a conservative political philosophy—as Bismarck knew, a hundred years ago.”

Neocons’ squat in the Republican Party to restore not a Jeffersonian model of government, but rather the Prussian welfare state. This, according to the neocons, this is what it means to be “in the ‘American grain.’” This is their contribution to what they consider is Republicanism, “the stupid party” as they call it.........and to the American way of life.

=====================================

ANOTHER ONE TO WATCH Uber conservative Cong Eric Cantor (R-VA). Nice sound bites, but when the mics and cameras are off, he cuddles up to the Dem/rats. God knows what deals Cantor's made behind the curtains to advance the pukeneo agenda (as McCain did---McC even gave them the Terrorist Protection Bill).

Chairputz STEAL has been a massive embarrasment to the party for years. How many of us have been boycotting donation appeals for as long as he remained in office?

He’s played the RACE CARD every bit as much as any global socialist / Democrats has.

Even the “moderates” ought to be at least a little bit ashamed of their establishment Party Chairputz.

Our County Party National Committee Delegate is a brilliant Historian and Political Scientist who I think will probably vote intelligently. He has been seen at several TEA Party Patriot gatherings over the past couple of years, and there were a good number of TEAper Republicans at the Convention where he was elected, by the way.

And here STEAL is trying to take credit for the Republican resurrection...

...What a putz! {B^{P~

Hey, he only said it was his favorite book...he never claimed he read it. :-)

Michael Steele: poster boy for the Peter Principle. He is an embarrassment to the GOP cause.
