First and foremost, this is a brotherhood. Cops fired from one jurisdiction, get hired in another, just about no questions asked, or at least excused. The only duty of a cop is to enforce the law. That means after the crime has happened. They have no duty to protect us. All the more reason for us to be armed and protect ourselves.
But to shoot dogs in our yard? Because a gate is not secured? Was the gate to keep the dogs in, or a gun-happy cop out? I'd think my gate was to keep my dogs in my yard. If someone wants to come in there and shoot my dogs, most likely they would leave really ingured.
“Because a gate is not secured? “
Rather, because they claimed a gate was not secured.
I’m sure it wasn’t secured-—after the cops unlawfully entered this poor woman’s property.
The worst thing about these cop-shoots dog/citizen stories is that some twisted soul from the criminal element copies them, often in stolen or faked cop uniforms.
We have a problem when it grows hard to distinguish between the sheepdogs and the wolves.
