Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), who could face a stiff reelection challenge in 2012, says shes looking forward to campaigning frequently with President Barack Obama.
Id like him to be there as much as possible. He helped save our economy in Michigan, Stabenow said last week in an interview with POLITICO in her office in the Hart Stabenow, who has served in elected office since age 24, heads into her fight for a third term facing some early warning signs.

Ive seen him stand up and be very courageous when we needed him to be. Its no small thing that he stood up and he didnt walk away from the American automobile industry at a time when there was a lot of criticism from all over the place, she said.
I have great empathy for everything that has come at them. Are there things I would do differently? Yeah, but I sure am glad hes there, she said.
The two Republicans most often mentioned as potential challengers to Stabenow are Michigan investor Tim Leuliette and former Rep. Pete Hoekstra.

I have in on a very close source that John will NOT run. First it would be a big pay cut for him. He is happy with what he is doing. He is enjoying his family and does not want to go through all that work again. I do not blame him.
