The BATFE has the BMW offsite and is doing a complete examination of the car. They then will go onsite and do a complete examination of the garage.
“As of now, people are shaking their heads, it's a real mystery so our people are going to go out and look at the car, bumper to bumper, underneath....take a complete examination and evaluation of the car to determine if the car caught on fire, or what. Then they'll go to the scene, try to take a look at the garage to determined what caused that part of the fire,” said Campbell.”

The medical examiner has yet to determine the cause of death.
IMHO this was an explosion - a firebomb. Timeline indicates she left the house a 4:45 AM, the 911 call was made at 4:50 AM, FD arrived on-site at 4:54 AM and the fire was put out by 5:00 AM.
DAY 6 and the following agencies are still investigating:
The District of Columbia Fire Department
who called in the
District of Columbia Fire Department Arson Investigations Unit
who called in the
Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Unit
who called in the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobbacco, Firearms, and Explosives
More at # 70.
Thanks, Gabrial.
Yes, it is a real mystery why she couldn’t get out of the car. Are they real sure it was a neighbor who called or just someone who said they were? Sure, it’s the ever busy city and all, but that seems like a quick call at such an early morning hour. I’m not saying her husband was involved (I don’t believe he was) but what was he doing at the time and did he hear anything or who woke him up and how did he know she got in her car at 4:45? Was the garage door always open or was it closed and she used a remote?
Maybe I watch too much TV but I’ll bet the medical examiner knows what the cause of death actually was but it’s not being reported. Same goes for the Jack Wheeler case.
Why don’t they call the agencies “still” investigating the Quarels Harris murder for over two years?
Said agencies must have a lot of experience in 0h0m0cides, the Chicago way!
