They don't even have trigger guards, which is why they are completely unsuited to personal defense.

Most derringer safeties are what is between yer ears...

I won’t carry a derringer because of this very type of incident...

A holstered firearm, in my opinion (and I am sure to catch a lot of caca for this, but hey), is a more credible, and safe method of carrying as far as I am concerned...

In Texas, until an open carry provision is passed, we’ll have to canceal carry and put up with the weather extremes until that time...

It is unfortunate someone got hurt, and hopefully the permit holder will re-think their choice of firearm (and carry method) in the future...
