That is the way the press tells it.
Not only did she drive it under (or just not resuscitate it), you should have seen some of the comments in the newspaper (in '06) about how she badly she treated employees, firing them, etc. Detailed stories and not just from one "disgruntled" employee.
Borax Queen (btw, I think I am preaching to the choir), if the public could be made aware of all the money being used by our elected reps at the federal and state levels used each year for personal benefit of those reps or those reps family members, Americans would do something, I would think. What Americans would do, I do not know. The problem is the press (media) does, I repeat does cover up these types of activities normally, if learned by their investigations, or those persons investigating, in the media, quietly go away. Who has time to read every bill, every signed law and go through all the garbage to find what is actually in the bill or signed law? Most state legislatures have so few who are actually attempting to read and understand all the paperwork, there is no possible way, those few individuals can keep up with the paper flow....imho
Of course if something is found... then what? Think of what can be done by an elected official to a low life reporter, or investigator. Everyone is scared these days because there are track records of many who found the who, what, when, where, and why and suddenly, those persons having found such were swiftly moved aside or worse.
I realize my words do not speak well of what is taking place in our nation. I have witnessed some things, not as a reporter, (rather a simple citizen). I would and have called into question, or a family member called into question something found unethical or illegal, and presto if a powerful person happened to be in the area of the questions' direction, all heck would be upon myself or that family member in a heartbeat. This forces one toward other avenues of information gathering rather than direct question asking, once something is found. Thank God, this site is one where other avenues of information may be pursued in relative safety, I hope. One can never tell who is reading and who is warning other, who may be pursuing unethical or illegal behavior.
Thanks much for those details...Of course are the opposite of what Gifford’s puffed up public biography is. She seems like a nice person but not too bright
