I think its fair to say that most people don’t know anything about this...and most people would assume ‘Gabby opened her eyes....for the first time Gabby opened her eyes’ meant, well...Gabby opened hr eyes for the very first time. It seems like more than something poorly worded...and more like an attempt to twist the truth a bit.
Very fair to say that most people outside medicine wouldn’t know this. Standard stuff to me, but likely to confuse the nonmedical listener.
