House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, all close friends of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’, were in the hospital room with the Arizona Democrat when she opened her eyes Wednesday for the first time since she was shot in the head Saturday during a rampage that killed six in Tucson, Ariz.
“We had been telling her that she was inspiring the country with her courage and that we couldn’t wait to take her out to pizza and a weekend away. Then after she heard our voices and the encouragement of Mark and her parents, she struggled briefly and opened her eyes for the very first time,” Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) said in a statement to POLITICO. “It was a miracle to witness.”

Horse Sh*t! More than likely she opened her eyes saw those bitches and blinked. Get the hell out of here you gun hating scumbags. If someone had been there with a concealed carry permit innocent live may not have been lost. Get Out. Then she fell asleep and rested peacefully.

Giffords is in a drug-induced coma in intensive care. Doctors frequently awaken her to check her responsiveness, and she could open her eyes and respond to simple commands Sunday - an encouraging sign, said Rhee said.
Giffords cannot speak because she is on a ventilator, and cannot see because of the area of her injury and the surgery requires her eyes be kept closed, the doctors said.

Sounds like she could always open her eyes, the doctors just didn’t want her to for a while after her surgery.

You're right. This was from a newspaper story Monday January 10. Obama’s version, that she opened her eyes for the first time when he was in her room was a self-serving lie. There is no depth to which the MSM and the Democrats will go to try to exploit this tragedy for political gain.
Um, not to rain on the parade, but if "Gabby" had had her way, Pelosi wouldn't even be the minority leader, Gifford voted against her, not exactly an act of friendship.....
