Sheriff Dupnik faces re-election bid August 28, 2012
LA County Libertarian Examiner ^ | 1/12/11 | Martin Hill

n response to a query by the L.A. County Libertarian Examiner, Pima County Arizona election officials have confirmed that Pima County Sheriff Clarence W. Dupnik will next be up for election in 2012. Mary Martinson, of Pima County Elections prompty replied to our question and said "The Sheriff in Pima County is up every 4 years. The Sheriff’s term is 4 years. The next time he (Dupnik) will be up for election is August 28, 2012."

His official webpage states that Sheriff Dupnik, who turned 75 yesterday, was first appointed Sheriff in February 1980 and has been re-elected seven times.

Dupnik, whose own daughter was arrested and convicted of drug charges and probation violations a few years ago, has encountered massive resistance nationally to his repeated insistence that the massacre last Saturday occured because of 'vitriolic' rhetoric on conservative talk radio shows.

Five months after Sheriff Dupnik's daughter was sentenced to prison for drug and other charges, the sheriff gave Jared Loughner a free pass on one of the identical charges: "possession of drug paraphernalia".

This guy is an embarrassment to law enforcement in America. May he lose his re-election in 2012.

From the above article: Dupnik has called Tea Party Members bigots and blamed conservative talk radio for the shootings which killed six people and injured many others, including Democrat Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Rush Limbaugh lashed out at Sheriff Dupnik on his show, stating "My guess is the sheriff wouldn't mind if the shooter was acquitted." Limbaugh, assumed by many to be the talk radio host which Dupnik was referring to, added "I would wager that the sheriff knew of this shooter long before this event" and said that Dupnik's comments may inspire another shooter.

Despicable.

There has to be one qualified Republican LEO in Tucson that can oppose that bastard on the ballot.

Paint a target on the Sheriff and in the meantime the Teaparty will find a good candidate.
Maybe Sheriff Joe could help us find a replacement.

Pathetic, he is a 75 year old who is losing it. I am 74 and am not delusional. Here is HOPE that the population will vote him out in 2012.

Along with Sheriff Dupnik, Hillary Clinton jumped at the chance to also blame this trajedy on political motivies. But now the facts are out: See the article: DUPNIK IS DONE- Loughner “Did Not Watch TV, Was Not Into News, He Didn’t Listen to Talk Radio”

{http://gatewaypundit.rightnetwork.com/2011/01/dupnik-is-done-loughner-did-not-watch-tv-was-not-into-news-he-didnt-listen-to-talk-radio/} Here is an excerpt:

This morning on “Good Morning America,” ABC’s Ashleigh Banfield sat down with Zach Osler, a high school friend of Jared Loughner, the suspect in the Tucson massacre.

Osler says his friend wasn’t shooting at people, “he was shooting at the world.” Regarding the high-pitched talk radio and cable news political rhetoric, Osler says his friend didn’t even watch the news.

He did not watch TV. He disliked the news. He didn’t listen to political radio. He didn’t take sides. He wasn’t on the left. He wasn’t on the right. Hillary blames this killing on extremists who incite this. Now she has the guts to come out against anyone who is extremely against her views (for we all know that is what she really is worried about) but now that the facts are out and it is proven that Loughner was not motivated to kill innocent people because of any right wing extremist talk, will HIllary Clinton come out and condemn the extremist talk of Clarence Dupnik who accused innocent people (like Sarah Palin, Tea Party members, and other conservatives) of his extremist talk. Hillary Clinton I hope you read this. And I hope you know we see you for the hypocrite and deceiver that you are.

So now Hillary Clinton...What do you have to say about your comments now???

Here are quotes from Clinton excerpted from the article entitled:
Clinton: Loughner acted politically
By MATT NEGRIN | 01/12/11 1:49 PM Updated: 01/12/11 3:28 PM.
http://www.politico.com/politico44/perm/0111/an_extremist_5b6e280f-d3d7-4d97-8354-e3832bc20e2a.html

Jared Loughner is an extremist because he carried out the Arizona shootings while acting on his “political views,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Wednesday.

“Based on what I know, this is a criminal defendant who was in some ways motivated by his own political views, who had a particular animus toward the congresswoman,” Clinton said in an interview with CNN. “And I think when you cross the line from expressing opinions that are of conflicting differences in our political environment into taking action that’s violent action, that’s a hallmark of extremism, whether it comes from the right, the left, from Al Qaeda, from anarchists, whoever it is. That is a form of extremism.”

She (Hillary Clinton) continued: “And it’s time for people across the world to stand against extremism and violence. There is just so much we can do together, and so many opportunities, particularly for young people that we can create, that we cannot allow a small, vocal, violent minority to intimidate the vast majority of people who have moderate views, who want to live their own lives, and who do not want to be put in a position where they are forced to keep silent or to follow a certain religious or political ideology. But people have to be willing to stand up against that.”

Hilllary, Sheriff Dupnik and all the others who are the true haters who accuse the innocent and incite hatred against them: I hope America does stand up to you.

He accuses the people who elected him of being bigots. I wonder if he even knows what the meaning of the word is.

He has no proof of motive but he just knows conservatives speech is responsible. Who is the bigot?

He needs to retire. If he’s reelected in 2012, the people of Pima County are morons.

That's all well and good that the voters of Pima County will have their say in 2012.

I wonder does AZ have their own version of the State Investigatory Agency that review local and county law enforcement malfeasance? (For example Florida has the FDLE, Georgia has the GBI).

It is completely clear that Dupnik ran to the cameras to blame anyone but the shooter (and CONTINUES to do so...) so as to deflect attention from his department's complete mishandling of the shooter's previous threats.

If I were a Pima County resident, I'd lead the charge in a recall petition or whatever AZ law calls for to remove this kind of malfeasance.
