TUCSON, Ariz. A wildlife officer pulled over the suspect in the assassination attempt against an Arizona congresswoman less than three hours before the deadly attack, authorities said Wednesday as they pieced together more details of a frenzied morning.
Jared Lougher ran a red light but was let off with a warning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, the Arizona Game and Fish Department said. The officer took Loughner's driver's license and vehicle registration information but found no outstanding warrants on Loughner or his vehicle.

How odd. The “person of interest” was identified as the taxi driver for the assassin. After getting the warning, was he afraid driving might result in his being pulled over again before he could pull the trigger?
The cops knew who he was. He was well known to a lot of people in positions of responsibility in Tucson. Because mommy was "on the team," he got pass after pass after pass. Now they're trying to pin it on Conservatives exercising their rights to free speech, and use it to curtail those free-speech rights, along with our rights under the Second Amendment.
Dear Lord, doesnt any police official in that state do their job’
oooooo, good point!
“Dear Lord, doesnt any police official in that state do their job”
What did you expect him to do? The person had no warrants and I am sure the police officer, contrary to popular belief, doesn’t have the ability to see into the future.
Wildlife officers can pull people over for speeding?
If he’s schizophrenic, there’s no telling what he was thinking. He might have thought the car had been planted with a device to telegraph his thoughts. Who knows. They live in a whole ‘nother world.
It’s Sarah Palin’s fault.
When they are in the 'park'. Remember, Loughner had 'run away' to the park. Police are supposedly searching for the black bag his stepfather said he saw in the trunk of the car. Maybe they should search the park where he 'almost' got a ticket.
You think a wildlife officer would know this kid? Really? Come on.
Bingo!!!
I wonder if we can believe it.
God I hope your Bill O’Douchebag! Sure he would know the kid and let him off! The officer KNEW his mother!
Pretty much sums it up.
Compare and contrast his police encounter to that of my daughter who got tailgated by a local (county) cop in an unmarked car in Bland County, Virginia, boxing her between his car and a semi-trailer on an I-77 downgrade. Not thinking this situation was safe, she pulled in the passing lane to pass the semi-trailer as soon as it was clear to do so. After completing the pass safely and pulling back into the driving lane, the unmarked cop followed her and issued the speeding ticket for which he was baiting her.
She got a $180 ticket and inflated insurance rates for not being on the team. Even though she had no priors and even though she was doing exactly what most motorists would be doing in the same situation.
What would you have done if you were the officer in this case?
Yes, Joe Arpaio, thanks.
I read that article twice and never saw where the mom knew that wildlife officer. Regardless, the kid and the car were clean. Even if a ticket had been issued, the kid would have been on his way shortly.
