Flash floodwaters cover a street in Toowoomba, Queensland January 10, 2011. Residents in Australia's third largest city, Brisbane, sandbagged their homes against rising waters on Monday, as police warned people in smaller outlying towns to be ready to abandon homes as forecasters predicted more heavy rain. This is a pic off the Courier Mail news site, dude jumped into the water to rescue a little roo to the cheers of many standing by.

Friends in Brisbane told me last night that at one point they got 80mm (3.14inches) in a half hour. Officials said that some areas were estimated to have had 200mm (7.8 inches) during the same 30-minutes.

People were being air lifted from the city by air. This is a 500 to 1000 year flood.
