That politicians can “do anything” about a very disturbed/sick young person who fell between the cracks of society, is ludicrous. It sounds like, from a lot we have heard, that this young man wavered between some sense of sanity and some form of mental illness. One cannot predict the unpredictable, and taking guns away from the general population will do nothing to stop episodes like this.
If a person wants to kill someone badly enough, he will find a way in all probability.
