vit·ri·ol/ˈvitrēəl/Noun 1. Sulfuric acid. 2. Cruel and bitter criticism.

That pretty much describes what the left is doing.

IMO, the word “vitriol” lacks gravitas.

These people are shameless.

You can always tell when the left thinks they are losing. They call calm, conciliation, compromise, etc.

Vitriol is the Demonrat party’s flavor-of-the-month. February will bring another word to harp on until we’re tired of hearing it.

Do you have any record of Al Sharpton using the word “Vitriol” in his campaign against hate speech on talk radio, before the shootings took place?

John Edwards, as far as I can tell, was correct about one thing and one thing only. There are two Americas.

This nightmare in Arizona and the reaction to it is only hardening those lines of division.

It’s a dangerous game the left has decided to play (no, Mr. FBI, that is not a threat) because it only feeds the fear of countless citizens that elected officals and the fourth estate cannot be trusted.

You can bet that when the Republicans put the Obamacare repeal back on the docket in the house, we’ll hear cries of, “See...more vitriol from the right!”

If dissent is perceived as “vitriolic”, then so be it. They want us to stop dissenting.

Is our alleged president not the personification of "vitriol"?

- - He's insulted his predecessor, President Dubya, numerous times.

- - He's gone out of his way to insult our traditional allies.

- - Obama insulted the U S Supreme Court, to their face, in the SOTU.

- - IIRC, he's insulted and disrespected the finest among us, those who wear the uniform.

- - IIRC, he believes that his critics are "enemies".

The list goes on.

Am I wrong here? Has there ever been a U. S. President who would closely fit the term "vitriolic"?

.

let’s end vitriol, end this stuff ...

* “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.” Barack Obama in July 2008

* “I want you to argue with them and get in their face!” Barack Obama, September 2008

* “Here’s the problem: It’s almost like they’ve got — they’ve got a bomb strapped to them and they’ve got their hand on the trigger. You don’t want them to blow up. But you’ve got to kind of talk them, ease that finger off the trigger.” Barack Obama on banks, March 2009

* “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!” Barack Obama on ACORN Mobs, March 2010

* “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.” Barack Obama on the private sector, June 2010

* “A Republican majority in Congress would mean ‘hand-to-hand combat’ on Capitol Hill for the next two years, threatening policies Democrats have enacted to stabilize the economy.” Barack Obama, October 6, 2010

* “We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us.” Barack Obama to Latinos, October 2010
