I admire your patriotism but your anger at WalMart is misplaced. Do you shop at Target, K-Mart, Home Depot, CostCo, Lowes, J.C. Pennys, Sears, and most any other large store or chain? How about your supermarket? All buy from China.

If you want to find the culprit look to Washington, D.C. Our restrictive regulations concerning safety, the environment, who we hire and who and how we fire, the labor unions, and onerous taxes on individuals and business. Look at the government and the Fed Reserve and how they control the banks and lending practices.

Had the Democrats and labor unions not destroyed our business environment over the last 50+ years our economy would be booming and no manufacturing would have ever left the country. Then China would just be a minor player in the world.

Considering the way the left has taken over the Democrat Party, the media, the unions, etc., do you think that is an accident?

The culprits are the Chinese and their very willing partners - our own government, which is complicit in every way you mentioned and more, and heads of large corporations who care nothing about ethics. Our manufacturing base is destroyed. If we do not stop dealing with the devil, and restore our manufacturing base for needed basic goods, we are doomed. Doomed in the sense of crashing and burning and then seeing how to rebuild after that.

Coporate greed without any ethical restraint, combined with traitorous bastards in the government whose morals and ethics would make a regular prostitute look saintly, are to blame.

I agree with you. Our first step is to repopulate our government with patriots who want what is best for us rather than the ones we have now who want to destroy our form of government. They want us to be Communists just like China, Russia and Venezuela.

"I’m on the same page, familyop. We need to tighten up and get ready for the ride, the roller coaster’s nearing the final downhill ride, IMO."

Yes. Before long, the USA will get more international attention in regards to sovereign debt. Bonds will be even riskier, and interest will go up on many things. "Austerity measures" will follow (larger government employee layoffs, more crazy tax hikes, and so forth). When the demands to repudiate the debt sound, be ready to spend more time at home.

Agreed. But IMO, government debts without sustainable revenues (manufacturing) have already gone too far. ...might be a good time to become more self-sufficient (gardening, food preservation, items for repairs, tools for making parts, etc.).

Heheh - I already got to “town” - 1200 pop, about 8 miles away - once every couple of weeks, sometimes less than that. The main town which is 30 miles away, about 27,000 - I go to every few months. I do my very p/t work from home.

If I stayed at home any more I’d have to weld or nail the door shut!

But I am a hermit, many are not (yet).

I have no debts, have a low income and spend little. And I haven’t know what the word “boredom” means for many decades.
