Ashley Turton, wife of the Obama administration's House of Representatives liaison, Dan Turton, was found dead in a burning car Monday morning, Roll Call and other news outlets are reporting.
Fire officials said it appeared the car crashed as it was pulling in or out of the garage behind a rowhouse in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C., at about 5 a.m. Neighbors dialed 911 after spotting the fire.
The body was discovered after fire crews doused the blaze. The fire also charred part of the garage. Nobody in the house was injured, fire officials said.
Ashley Turton worked as a lobbyist for the utility giant Progress Energy, according to Politico. She was a former staffer for U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn.
Metropolitan Police Lt. Nicholas Breul told Roll Call a joint investigation is underway. Homicide detectives were called to the scene.
"This could be just a tragic freak accident," Breul said, adding there was no indication that there was a crime committed.
The White House had no immediate comment on the incident.
In a word, yes. As always, the question is qui bono - who benefits.

The problem with this formula for totalist domination and subjugation of the American people is that many of us are awake to what this is and what it means for us and those we hold dear. Those who would rule us - killers without conscience - have been itching for an excuse to move it forward. This is their time, as they see it. And they will NOT let this opportunity go by without a fight. but their impatience and their blindness to who and what we are will be their undoing, I think. The alternative is monstrous to contemplate.

At least we can’t tie in snow in Louisiana, unless someone in an undisclosed location found the keys to the Rove Weather Machine.
The weather is Louisiana is not that unusual. Northern Louisiana can get snow (I-20 route).
It is when I-10 gets snow that is unusual.
Even the snow in Georgia/Mississippi/Alabama was confined North of I-10.
And the North Louisiana weather is more a case of icy roads (sleet) than snow.
Folks in the South do not know how to handle snow because it is rare.
A snow along I-10 is normally very rare:
San Antonio, Texas
Houston, Texas
New Orleans, LA
Baton Rouge, LA
Biloxi, MS
Mobile, AL
Snow with accumulation has occurred in these areas multiple times since the start of the Franklin D. Rooservelt Presidency...
So I don't think this current weather is very rare...
