Thanks. If this is true, it sounds remarkably like the “registration” all good 2A types are always preaching against. I thought the whole point was that the cops or government wouldn’t know who did and did not buy or own guns.

No, I was emphatically told by a C/C-freeper that their local sheriff investigated them after the background check cleared the FBI, and that freeper stated that the local sheriff should NEVER have permitted Jerry Loughner to purchase a Glock.

Unfortunately, this is all I recall from the interchange.... that they were appalled with the local sheriff in AZ.
