I remember that Winter of ‘85.
I think I was in 5th grade at the time, and we didn’t have school for nearly the entire month of January because of the weather. Just for fun, I took a piss on the back patio, and around 20min later it was frozen. lol (I believe that yellow patch of ice stayed there for two weeks)
I recall a corner sidewalk in downtown Detroit where a pool of vomit was frozen in situ and visible thru the ice for two weeks.
That image has stayed with me for almost thirty years -- and I couldn't wait to get out of town and back to Texas.
I remember it well, too. My car froze up in -20+ degree weather so I walked back and forth to work (20 minute FAST walk!) I NEVER lost weight so easily as I did in those couple weeks.

I well remember the winter of ‘85 too, I was living on the southern edge of LAKE ERIE, with the lake effect weather, and with all lake effect weather entails.
It's been so long since I could take a piss "just for fun."
I believe that was the year that on January 21 (I could be a day off on either side) EVERY STATE EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI EXCEPT FLORIDA was below zero in some towns that morning.
