Nothing new here at all, just posting it for the record. At least they remember his name.

TSD Q&A: Colm Connolly
February 1, 2012

TOWN SQUARE DELAWARE: Let’s start with the Wheeler case. You represent the Wheeler family. One year later and authorities don’t seem to have any real leads toward solving this terrible crime. As a former US Attorney, you’ve seen a lot of interesting cases but this must be one of the strangest and confounding.

COLM CONNOLLY: The person or persons responsible for Jack Wheeler’s death remain a mystery, and my heart goes out to his wife, Kathy, and their family. Despite the best efforts of the Newark Police Department, we are no closer today to solving this crime than we were a year ago. It really is a sad and frustrating situation.

TSD: Is there anything you can tell us about the investigation that TSD readers may not know?

CC: At this point, we’ve decided not to disclose facts beyond what has already been shared with the media. It’s important that the police keep some facts out of the public eye so they can test the credibility of witnesses who may come forward in the future. Having spent 16 years in law enforcement as a federal prosecutor, I understand how critical the credibility of key witnesses can be to a prosecution. You want to make sure that your witnesses aren’t molding what they say to fit what they’ve read in the newspaper. Equally important, you don’t want to give a defense attorney the opportunity to suggest in cross-examination that the testimony of a witness was influenced by a newspaper story.

My gut tells me issues between K Klyce and her siblings (lawsuit referenced above) are the main reason the family has not been more public in their push for answers. A don't air dirty linen problem. A shame.

NEW INFO!!

Sources: Slain Pentagon official had connection to man arrested in Connecticut killing

Posted on February 12, 2012 by Chad Livengood
By Cris Barrish/The News Journal

What are the odds that Jack Wheeler and Andy Levene – two men involved in recent bizarre murder cases with a Delaware connection – knew each other? Well, in tiny Delaware, where residents joke that there’s only two degrees of separation among the 900,000 residents, there should never have been any doubt.

Wheeler was a former Pentagon official and New Castle resident who was found beaten to death in the Wilmington landfill on New Year’s Eve 2010 after wandering around the city for two days. His murder has not been solved.

Levene, an Army veteran who ingratiated himself with the Greenville set while he fought off debts from real estate deals gone bad, killed himself in a Spanish prison last month [remember the airline tickets??] after being arrested for killing a Connecticut jeweler after robbing him of $300,000 worth of diamonds.

Sources familiar with their association said Levene met Wheeler through a non-Delaware connection with Wheeler’s wife, Katherine Klyce.

Wheeler and Levene, a quarter-century younger, periodically met for lunch before Wheeler, a driving force behind the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., was killed.

After Wheeler’s death, sources said, Levene often spoke of knowing Wheeler and asked a realtor to meet Wheeler’s wife about selling their expensive riverfront home in Old New Castle. The meeting never occurred.

So what are the odds that the two homicide cases are somehow linked?

Even in Delaware, that might not be possible.

I haven't decided if this story is too convienent or there might be something to it.
