Some are claiming that since he never was formally enlisted, the Bible story can not be true. Can you explain the process a bit more? Do you go thru processing (get the Bible) and then still can get rejected?
I was never offered a Bible in the seven years I spent in the USAF.
Bible story? (head spins, can’t keep up) What Bible story?
You come to the station at 0600. You sign many papers. You then get your height, weight, and blood pressure. You then get to blow into a breathalyzer and pee in a cup.
At this point, we were offered a mini bible with a camouflage cover. I took one. (it's a good read)
We then had to lift a weighted bar over our heads. Then you get the “Ball” check. Mostly to make sure you do not have a hernia, but also, to make sure you are the sex you say you are.
They then make you duckwalk and talk to the physician about any concerns.
If all checks are good, you will normally board a plane the same day and arrive at your services basic training base.
The MEPS are there to weed out those who should not be serving.
I could see him going in and then being rejected after talking one on one with the physician. They grill you about everything.
