The media's sin in this event is one in which they routinely and willfully engage: that of encouraging the worst kind of political opportunism among those with whom they happen to agree.

They give voice to those who seek to fit terrible acts committed by sick individuals into their own world view. The proper response would be to seek the truth while declaiming irresponsible efforts to inflame passions, even if it means foregoing the creation of phony headlines.

In this manner, the mainstream media acts irresponsibly and without a hint of shame. Our prayers should be with those injured and killed in this terrible event, and that does not exclude those who report the story. As for those who use such tragedies to promote their own anger, they will have to answer to a higher power, and would do well to reflect on occasion before opening their mouths.

They should be subject to truth in advertising laws. They are reduced to being Democrat campaign commercials 24/7.
