I think the eye-witness said it went into her temple and out her forehead. Could have missed the main part of her brain, or glanced it. Truly a miracle that she spoke and recognized people.

If that's true, it might not have hit the brain at all, but instead traveled through her sinuses. She's a lucky lady if so.
