Apparently God was on the scene today for Congressman Giffords. A shot through the temple certainly is a horrific event for the brain. Having her talking and able to be coherent is a miracle. God bless her and the surviving victims.
A medical expert on either CNN or FOX stated that one of Giffords' aides was a former nurse. When he heard the shots he ran to her side, put pressure on her wound to slow the bleeding and kept her conscious and active until the ambulance arrived. The specialist reporting this credits the aide's quick action with Gabrielle's miraculous survival and promising prognosis.
