A Brownsville man pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for the 1998 shooting deaths of three teens.
Ricardo Hernandez appeared before Judge Arturo Nelson in the 138th State District Court on Friday morning.
Hernandez, who went by the nickname "El Boy," was accused in 1998 deaths of 14-year-old Jason Sexton, 18-year-old Roberto Moreno and 19-year-old Ricardo Mata.
Hernandez was only 15 years old at the time of the triple murder but later certified to be tried as an adult in the case.
Hernandez is an American citizen but was arrested in Mexico back in March 2008.
Hernandez, who is now 25 years old, appeared before Judge Nelson on Friday morning where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
Another person charged in the case, Christopher Carrera was sentenced back in 2004. Carrera received 15 years in prison for his involvement in the triple murder.
Action 4 News will have reaction to Hernandez's sentence during our 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts.

Ricardo Hernandez aka "El Boy"
Is he one of the ones that Mexico let us have after we promised to not impose the death penalty? I suspect this person will be responsible for the deaths of one or more people in prison.
Only 35 years for the death of 3 people? Well lets guess none of them were government types as he would have received 3 life terms as they are more valuable than the non-ruling class.
