My 14 year old was asked in his “health” class to write a report about “the history of AIDS in Australia,” (different children were given different countries/continents) and then the class was told to NOT MENTION homosexuality, gays, sexual preference, etc in writing their histories.

Can you believe it? Talk about ignoring the elephant in the room. I don’t even think the “gay community” would agree with this.

I was joking with him yesterday; I told him to write that a “certain unmentionable group of men started showing strange lesions in 1980 in Australia”

He also joined the Republican Club on campus yesterday. . .not unrelated. . .leftists try to whitewash history and even my 14 year old could see it. . .

Speaking as a teacher...

I’d tell your 14-year-old to go ahead and write an accurate paper about the history of AIDS in Australia, which would have to include some mention of the homosexual community in order to be complete. Make sure the paper is written well, with good spelling and grammar, as well as proper citations. If the teacher complains, calmly tell the teacher that either the paper is accepted as an accurate and complete report, or you’ll file a grievance with the state standards and practices commission. You don’t have to shout or be defensive. You’re the person who’s right. Calmly state you reasons and the consequences of the teacher’s actions. My bet is that the teacher will back down, give your child a good grade, and let it go rather than decide to fight and die on this particular mountain.

Good luck with your fight for the truth. This teacher has your back.
