Why can’t LA sustain a pBS Station?
Not enough English-speakers in LA.

A few years ago, KCSM (San Mateo) severed their relationship with PBS, too. The Bay Area still has KQED (San Francisco) and KTEH (San Jose) PBS affiliates.

Remember, all there is also no NFL team in Los Angeles, either.... No NFL in LA, now no PBS! I dig it!

In So Cal I can get PBS on 24 and 31.

Our cable co carries, and I might be missing some: KLCS, KOCE, and KVCR primary PBS channels, plus their digital channels: KOCEDT2, KLCSDT2, KLCSDT3, KCETDT3, KVCRDT3, and KVCRDT4. So losing KCET is a plus for diversity..

I’ve found that the Chicago area has two PBS stations as well that show essentially the same thing.

Thanks for your excellent responses and zingers.
I’m still flipping out over the new Alajazeera flavor of KCET-MH.
They’re running NHK, RT and some Frenchie news.
Interestingly, nothing from the thriving democracies of Israel and India.... or, hey, Canada!??
