Except for the fact that the ME ruled his death a homicide. There is something clearly indicated on or in his body that supports this ruling.
While walking around, he could have been side-swiped by a car which might explain his broken shoe. Perhaps the driver didn’t realize and kept driving.
The injuries from a pedestrian/vehicle collision might well resemble an assault with a deadly weapon.
It’s all pure conjecture until the police release his injuries and proof of both manner/cause of death.
