Yes a massive change is required and unfortunately it just doesn’t seem like the ballot box is happening...
One element that might work is to get as many states as possible to make it law that a candidate must prove their eligilibity to get the electoral votes.
As I’ve said before, that is the reasonable thing to do if you want answers.
