Sarah Palin has remained silent on the issue of repealing “don’t ask, don’t tell,” which Congress passed in the lame-duck session — at least until now. ABC News’ Devin Dwyer has been on the Twitter beat and reports that Palin retweeted a message from radio host Tammy Bruce that supports the end of DADT:
But Monday night the former Alaska governor re-tweeted a post from conservative talk show host and blogger Tammy Bruce, who is lesbian, appearing to indirectly cast support for gays and an end to the ban on openly gay members of the U.S. military.
Bruce had been commenting on the controversy surrounding a U.S. Navy commander and a raunchy video when she turned to the issue of gays in the military.
But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already–the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed, Bruce tweeted, suggesting that virulent opposition to gays may reflect the individual has something to hide.
Soon after, Palin re-tweeted the message to her following of more than 350,000 followers.
It should be stressed that retweeting does not necessarily connote agreement. Dwyer’s colleague Jake Tapper has to repeatedly make that point when Tapper retweets and adds his own commentary. It does suggest a de facto endorsement when unaccompanied by a substantive response, however, and it’s fair for those who follow Palin’s Twitter feed to assume agreement in this sense, as Tammy did in her response. Nor does this specific message explicitly address DADT repeal, although that’s certainly the larger context in the issue of gays and the military.
There is some irony in this quiet positioning, if indeed that’s what this is. The opposition to repeal of DADT in the Senate was led by Palin’s former running mate, John McCain. Palin has courted the conservative base in the GOP that opposed the repeal (as did McCain himself in his re-election bid this year), but managed to avoid taking a stand either way on this issue, one of the few from which Palin has shied.
Palin hasn’t yet responded to requests for comment on the retweet, and that will probably require Palin to clarify her position for the record on DADT. If she backs repeal openly, does this open a rift between Palin and the conservative base? Or does it take the edge off of the dissatisfaction over the repeal on the Right?
PALIN: “I don’t think so right now. I’m surprised that the President spent that on his State of the Union speech when he only spent about nine percent of his time in the State of the Union on national security issues. And I say that because there are other things to be worried about right now with the Military.”
This isn’t a position, it’s procrastination.
So what do you think of the repeal of DADT?

Attila was a conservative?
If you support them in teh military, yes, you are.
Homosexuality is a sexual dysfunction the same as necrophilia, pedophilia and bestiality. They are all sexual dysfunctions and abnormal. One of those just has a better PR group.

Exactly so.
DING DING DING!!! We have a winner.
It's easy to zot from FR those who are mildly tolerant of, or even indifferent to, homosexuality.
But you can't zot them off the voting rolls.
It’s a dead giveaway. They’re revealing that they think conservatives are violent thugs.
There have been homosexuals in the military since the Revolutionary War. and alcoholics. I compare all of this to prohibition.
In the 24/7 electronic media age. All you have to do is look at someones Facebook page or profile to figure out if they are gay. Even if they don’t flaunt it, in many cases you can still figure it out if you put 2 and 2 together.
I support the “don’t ask” part. but the “don’t tell” is impossible to enforce.
the criteria should be. if someones lifestyle choice interferes with their oath and abilitry to protect and defend the constitution of the United States. if it does, discharge them. if it doesnt.. ok. but don’t discharge them if it is a matter of what they do in their own personal time. unless it is illegal
But you can't zot them off the voting rolls.
Apparently you have confused a conservative activist site for Republican voting rolls. They are not comparative.
Then you are ignorant.
George Washington, March 14, 1778, General Orders

Enslin to be drummed out of Camp tomorrow morning by all the Drummers and Fifers in the [Note 28: Lieut. Bill 64
Whosoever shall be guilty of Rape, Polygamy, or Sodomy with man or woman shall be punished, if a man, by castration, if a woman, by cutting thro' the cartilage of her nose a hole of one half diameter at the least.
In that case. They should have been discharged.
Quite right, which is why Palin, if she runs for President, will have to appeal to a goodly number of voters who would not be welcome on FR.
They were.....until the repeal of DADT. They outed themselves they were gone. BEFORE that they were NEVER knowingly allowed into military service. The military is NOT a smorgasbord for lonely homosexuals.
There were several threads recently about homosexual rapes in the military too. I don't have links to those threads.
You mistakenly assume that most Americans approve of the homosexual agenda. They do not. 38 states have passed marriage laws that forbid homosexual marriage. That why homosexuals are using the courts to push their agenda. Americans do NOT approve it.
Absolutely. Homosexuality is a sin and is not to be tolerated.
As is adultery of any kind.
And current military regs punish such behavior.
That’s what seems to be missing in this discussion, the acknowledgment that thoughts are not punishable, either in civilian or military life, but actions are. And the military is quite capable of curtailing indecent behavior.
I have a very high opinion of military competence. If homosexuals are lining up thinking they can flaunt nasty behavior as soldiers, I truly believe they’re going to be seriously disappointed.
And in the brig.
I would like to see those stances..pray tell!!
And a larger number of Americans (but not a majority) who are 100% against it.
And a whole lot of Americans who are somewhat opposed. This group would vote in a referendum to keep traditional marriage, but would not consider banning homosexuals from the military to be a make-or-break issue in a presidential primary.
Which is why I think that Palin will continue to finesse the issue. Only time will tell whether I am right.
Thats what seems to be missing in this discussion, the acknowledgment that thoughts are not punishable, either in civilian or military life, but actions are. And the military is quite capable of curtailing indecent behavior.

I don't think you understand. As long as this administration is in power, the agenda is to weaken the military. How many homosexuals has Obama put into positions of power? Do you think their intent is to stop here? Do you know anything about the homosexual agenda?
