New Speaker Vows to Share Power—a Tricky Proposition
JANUARY 4, 2011
By NAFTALI BENDAVID And PATRICK O'CONNOR

When John Boehner takes over one of the most powerful jobs in Washington this week, he says his first order of business is to make himself less powerful.

On Wednesday the new speaker of the House of Representatives plans to offer a package of rule changes that, he says, will give minority-party members more of a say and decentralize power. In short, Ohio Republican Mr. Boehner is promising he'll be a different figure from many speakers throughout history—from Republican Joseph Cannon a century ago to his immediate predecessor, Democrat Nancy Pelosi—who kept a tighter leash.

But there's a reason so many speakers try to keep close control: It works.

The fix is in. And it looks like the Marxist’s will never loose control via the ballot box.

The sole purpose of the Republican Party is to serve as an ineffective alternative to the Democrat Party.

Well, why not? That’s how the pubs always do it. Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by doing THE stupidest thing possible.

They’re all on the same team. It’s good cop, bad cop.

I have been saying "It's the Ralph and Sam Show" for years.

They show up to work in the morning...and Sam pretends to protect us from Ralph. Then...when the 5 o'clock whistle blows...they go off...pat each other on the back...have cocktails and laugh at us...

WTF?

I clicked your link to email asshat Boehner. First, I get this blurb overlaying the contact page asking me to sign up for email alerts from Boehner, and there’s no way to just close the window. I finally got it closed. Next thing is the Boehner contact page. If you’re not in his district, you click to contact him in his capacity as Speaker. So I click that........and it goes to a contact page for Cantor.

God, I am so sick of this sh!t.

Sad but true.

For the next few weeks the media will be throwing every conceivable thing they can at true conservatives, looking to see what works.
They couldn’t talk us out of electing conservatives so they will do everything they can to de-value, discredit, and obfuscate the effect the new members will be trying to achieve.

Well then, speaker Boehner. Just hand over all the committee chairmanships to the Democrat Party, if you’re so serious about power sharing.

Like the Proletariat in 1917 Russia, we’ve been jobbed.

Big time.

No, what he has said is that he will give more power to ranking members and debate time to rats on all their amendments, among other things.

Instead of throwing up why don't you read the article and try to think for yourself.

Once again proving only Republicans can snatch defeat from the Jaws Of Victory and then do a endzone dance as if they had won. Sigh*** Time for a THIRD PARTY!!! These GOP yahoos do not get it at all. Screw rule changes!!! YOUR FIRST PRIORITY IS TO STOP THE SOCIALIZATION OF AMERICA. The message was and still is STOP OBAMA AND CO.!!! How much simpler can it made for these idiots.

D1 my only guess is he was given a “Tall Glass of Stupid” and then he decided to drink the whole freaking pitcher at “W's New Tone Bar and Grill”. And we know how well that worked out.

I mean WTF!!! He is not going to be able to make the changes needed to repeal socialist legislature by giving our opponents the tools to derail them.

Once again for the IDIOTS in the GOP it is NOT about being liked by the MSM, Democrats, or socialites at D.C. parties. No one cares how many followers you have on twetter or how many friends you have on facebook. Being famous or popular in pop culture is not what you were elected for and does not mean squat when it comes to running this country and making the hard decisions to insure that the USA stays the land of liberty, freedom, and the home of the brave. Being popular on the hill will get you nowhere but out power because you new found friends, the democrats, will work tirelessly to make sure you are put out of power.

You were elected by the Tea Party to “STOP OBAMA & CO.(that is the Democrats for those in Rio Linda and the GOP Establishment) from socializing America into a third world dictatorship.

House Democrats have already gone on record as to how the minority party should be treated. They should expect nothing less.

Is it because I’m over 50 that I can see the shore ahead and not get focused on every wave that laps the boat?

Why do so many of us get sea sick 50 feet from shore?

Metaphorically of course.
