Retiring celebrity governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of California was bad for the GOP in so many ways, Ive stopped counting them.
So, how did Schwarzenegger leave office? By committing one last shameful act of back-scratching politics as usual and granting a commutation to the son of a Democrat political crony, former California Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez (his longtime collaborator on job-killing environmental regulations) .

Nunez stabbed another guy in the stomach, a felony. He was involved in a knife fight where someone was killed. That’s first degree murder plain and simple.

I know what ya mean about Laird — but can anyone be worse than Mary Nichols?
They need to abolish that whole department, IMO.

You betcha!!! Just wait till they start up that state/federal EnvironMental Crimes Enforcement Task Force again, like they tried to do in 1996! They were dangling federal resources in the face of all CA's DA's when county budgets for DA's were stretched thin by state and federal revenue rip-offs by converting property taxed land into state and federal land for CONservancies!!!
You talk about a chilling effect on business, employment and commerce in general... WHEW!!!
We're right back where we were in 1976 during the US Bi-centenial with Moonbeam as Governor and somebody just like Jimmy Carter in the whitehouse serving out Jimmy's second term!!! Deja vu all over again!!!
