I saw this happen on a much smaller scale about two years ago.
There is an area where black birds collect for some reason next to a busy bridge.
Lightning caused it.

Wowser. When I pinged you to the first article this morning about this, it was 1,000 birds. Now they’re saying it’s 4,000-5,000 birds. Sounds like the birds were all DemocRATS and the state run "media" took over the counting again.

My first thought was wow 5000 good black birds.

About a month ago I had so many black birds land in front of my house and several others I took a picture of it. It was thousands and they were traveling together. They were after something on the ground to eat it seems and they left.

We see that all the time here from overflowing old coal mines. Just happened last year on the Susquehanna River. They never identified which mine.
