Amazing look at what Detroit once was and what it is today. Truly sad and frightening to see how steep the decline has been and how it occurred over a relatively short period.

The documentation of the effects of Johnson’s great society and liberalism’s on our country. We don’t need any other proof that we are on the wrong path. Looking at Europe only strengthens the arguments against liberalism run amok.

Decades of political corruption and dependence on gubmint hand outs take their toll. What a shame.

So sad.
Uncles on my dad’s side saw this coming and got out before and just after the Detroit riots. They worked for Ford, in the corporate office and on the line and had good lives. Then, something changed...

It is equally amazing, or should be but it is not, that no discussion in polite company can be conducted concerning the disintegration of Detroit-or virtually any other American inner city for that matter-that is not politically correct.
Until we can speak the truth, we cannot hope to cope.

Soon to be in other cities. Many are already seeing this blight.

Nothing a few billion in stimulus money can't fix!
It certainly cannot be the fault of the local populace. They are/were all such good, law-abiding; civic-minded people.

Welcome to Somalia. Detroit is now a ghetto. It needs to be leveled and turned into pasture.

Some really beautiful interiors. This is one time I hope that someone removes as much as possible so that the craftsmanship will not be lost. Such a shame.

Hollywood could use it as scenery for a dozen post-apocalyptic movies.

This very subject has been posted here before.
There is a series of YouTube videos that depict block after block of deserted, looted, rotting neighborhoods.
You literally can't tell parts of Detroit from a war zone.

Pretty much has been and by vandals elected by popular vote.

No doubt the other side of the ideological fence would look at these images and say they are the product of white flight, lack of an “industrial policy,” or any other variety of liberal grievance. That begs the question: What political party has had a lock on the city over the last 50 years?
