Yep. The halogen bulbs are superior in every way to regular incandescent bulbs, and far superior to CFL’s. They do cost more, though.

Halogen bulbs require special handling... need to wear gloves as oils from bare hands heat up the bulb and shorten their lives... but if you install them carefully, they can last for years before needing replacement.
