Halogen bulbs aren't toxic, as far as I know. (But they are easily more expensive--I haven't priced one recently, but I used to sell them* for $5 each in the late 1980's).

They’re not halogen as far as I know. Those twisty bulbs are toxic. They are the ones we must use.
