Why is it that the police are always held accountable for any perceived wrong that they may do while on duty. They will usually be suspended from their jobs sometimes without pay until they are thoroughly examined. During this period the officer’s name and photo will be plastered all over the news. Why is it that the parole board is not subjected to the same kind of investigation and scrutiny? Another question that I have is why the Department of Social Services is not also held accountable when they give abused children back to their abusing parents, sometimes ending in the death of the child. Do we ever see the faces of the DSS personnel who made the decision? Are their jobs threatened if their decision ends with the death of a child?
