NY Carry permits change here from county to county...as there is 1 state law that covers all counties, my CCW is full carry in counties other than my own...but not mine.
in my county I would not be arrested for illegal carry if I was cought carrying concealed to places other than the range, or hunting, or stopping off at my bank/ diner/ 7-11/etc on the way to the range or hunting....but they cram all these rules onto it the CCW to make you think twice about carrying and if you are cought carrying not on the way to said locations, you can lose your permit to carry.
and like I said, if I am upstate out of my county by my hunting land, no such rules apply...and I carry all the time without hesitation.
all things considered I would rather live in Texas.
I have a concealed permit in my county which allows me to carry everywhere EXCEPT NYC. Go figure. NYC is exempt from the rest of the state when it comes to concealed carry laws. It has it’s own. Might as well separate the City from the rest of the state.
