Perhaps the electronics are better in the Gibson. You are probably correct about that.
My LP listed for $4000, but I got it for $995.
My fingers fly on the fretboard like silken wings. I have never played a guitar like that.
I have owned several Epiphones over the years and loved them...but my Gibson Les Paul is so precious to me!
I’m not much of a Les Paul guy myself. I would probably go with an SG if I were buying a Gibson. Part of it is because I find a Strat a bit more challenging to play, not to mention most of the guitar players I really liked when I was starting to play guitar either played Stratocasters or Strat-based hybrids.
With a PRS I sort of have the best of both. It plays a lot like my MIM Stratocaster and sounds like a LP with really hot pickups.
