The idea of anyone taking out an entire trained SWAT team who will have the element of surprise, superior firepower and numbers on their side is nothing short of laughable.

and there you have it... Element of surprise. Hence the dog. Of course my Shepard would get shot but she'd bark and scare the heck out of anybody coming in the door. She has in the past and I've never killed anybody here that tried to break in. But i'm fairly sure that anybody with a little training can protect his perimeter in a layered fashion. Starts with motion detectors and cameras at the periphery. Then roses, pyracantha, catclaw acacia and blackberry hedges under the fences and windows.

Our family alarm is our German Shepard. Finally to the doors. A video door phone activated by either motion detector and/or doorbell with internally hinged door, reinforced strike plates and security bar attached to the studs for a lock.

Then it's inside with shotgun under the bed, pistol at the night stand and in lab coat and 4 others in the house that know how to fire a pistol, shotgun and rifle. 3 girls and a boy.

Really all that people need to do to stop the drug raids is get an informer to finger a "kingpin" or soft granny crack dealer at the end of a cul de sac, set a trip wire or pressure plate on the front porch with flash bangs and as they turn around to run back out some claymores pointed towards the house from the perimeter fence or sides of the porch would finish the raid.

no Rambo, no John Wayne, no super d-duper spec operator just a guy with a little training. The reason the wannabe special operators that permeate the SWAT teams in the police forces usually don't go after real gang bangers is cause they'd get shot at. So they usually go after some little old ladies, single family dwellings with very little gang activity and go busting in like Iwo Jima or Fallujah.

Give me 4 or 5 guys, a van, some zip ties and night vision anybody worth their salt could serve a warrant without busting down the door and killing people. Turn off water, electricity, jam cellphones and just wait them out. But it just doesn't look good on TV to sit around and wait for people to come out with their hands up or people getting taken down as they come out of a grocery store, gas station, or wherever. Got to justify all that neat equipment and balaclavas. hahahahahahaha.. f'ing joke.

Save yourself some money. One pound of black powder will level a house.

Can you prove this contention? Since you made the assertion, I'm sure that you'll be able to cite sources that prove your assertion, right?

Dogs can be taken out silently. But are a good start. Watch geese have a long and storied role, as well, from the hills of Appalachia to ancient Rome. May actually be harder to shut up.
High windows along with your thorn bushes are good.
Wind closets and back porches with exterior doors can slow things down. Strategic obstacles, and funneling, are also good indoors. Bell on the knob?

As to the rest of the post, I’ll leave it alone.
