Well, fortunately, Pence’s “soft spot for illegals” no longer includes any kind of amnesty whatsoever. Unlike that brilliant exec from AK.

It doesn’t matter where he is today. He was way out of the mainstream of the public and in lockstep with the RINOs with his amnesty bill. Amnesty is rather important issue. What will make the next issue any different. A career politician is the same no matter what party.

He boils down to an establishment rubber stamp most of the time. Don’t forget about the billions in spending this so called conservative voted for under Bush.

Get off of Palin bashing and defend Pence if you see him as the savior. Your “But she’s one too.” BS doesn’t defend your man too well and judging the lukewarm response on FR to his run he needs all the help he can get.

Cool. Then I'll be sure to accept none of your Precious' flipflops which will be coming fast and furious when she runs.

Good point.

If DeMint does not get in I’m going to probably back Pence. But if Pallin gets the nod I will vote for her.

DeMint, Pence, Cain, and maybe Bolton, if he fleshes out his positions to my satisfaction. I wanted Mike Rounds to run, but he seems to want to return to the private sector.

Do you have some sort of mental illness/phobia toward people from AK or women in general?

I'm betting on pure mental illness.........

Let me slap some actual facts your way to show you what they are. You seem to have trouble constructing them in arguments.

I will admit that once in 1978 during a 1st grade argument I was able to defend my position with your method of "I know you are but what am I", so I see how enticing it is to use.

In 2008, Congressman Pence voted for the Recovery Rebates and Economic Stimulus for the American People Act, the Bush stimulus costing taxpayers $152 billion. In July of 2009, Pence voted for $192 billion in additional federal stimulus spending.

The Cato Institute graded Pence at 61% on free trade issues in 2002. Pence was graded a “C” by the Club for Growth in 2004. In 2006, Pence scored just 63 out of 100 on economic issues and 67 of 100 on social issues in the Republican Liberty Caucus “Liberty Index,” which has rated members of Congress on key liberty votes since 1992.

His stance on illegal immigration is equally pathetic and pandering to the farmers lobbies who want nickle a day workers. From his own website:

Our plan begins with border reinforcement. The millions who come to our country seeking jobs to support their families are not a security threat to our nation, but the weaknesses in the nearly 7,000 miles of international border and 95,000 miles of shoreline have given terrorists, drug dealers and human traffickers an opening that is being exploited; this is a risk we cannot allow to continue. Part two of our plan is a temporary-worker program that is essential in order to fill jobs in our economy that are in high demand.

Illegal immigrants are a security threat. The prosperity of our own citizens having jobs should have been Pences default concern as a Conservative. Instead he was hanging out with RINO central, Kay Baily Loser.

Hey, MENSA, he has long ago tossed out any ideas about ANY amnesty. Unlike your Precious, who is still pimping it.

As for Club for growth and Cato, it’s a dman good thing to be not rated too highly by them. The phony “free trade” morons don’t know their arse from a hole in the ground.

Pence has a lifetime 98 rating from the ACU and voted against NCLB as well as the the prescription drug benefit as well as the POS TARP your Precious was pushing.

No comparison between the two. Pence is a conservative. Palin is a McCain clone.

I’m not sure what a Precious is. It may be some sort of misspelling. Once again I have a screen full of hyperbole because Pence has accomplished nothing. What was his Come To Jesus moment that had him change his mind on amnesty and deficit spending? I can only find political expedience.

Why don’t you compare Pence’s record to Herman Cain? I stated he was my man. Not Palin. You can’t. Herman actually accomplished meaningful and lasting enterprises in this world.

Your comments on West seem to assume that, without a strong leader who understands the history of civilization and the unique ideas upon which this Republic was founded (as West does), our nation can survive a less qualified President for another term or two.

George Washington was a strong military leader who loved liberty and was devoted to its preservation. His statesmanship became apparent during his presidency and afterward.

It is the ideas and enduring principles which underlie our liberty which are the target of those who wish to destroy America today. And, by the same token, it is the history and tyranny of the counterfeit ideas of our enemies which must be understood by a successful leader. West has studied those ideas and can debate and demolish those who defend such threats to our freedom.

You may be right, but if not him, then we need to find another articulate person who can debate principles, not just discuss issues. I have not yet heard such a person. We must not be content with someone who just channels Ronald Reagan in order to sound conservative.

We need a person who, like Reagan, has done his own first-hand study of the Founders' ideas and principles and has incorporated them into his heart and soul. That was Reagan's strength. He was not borrowing lines from some previous 19th or 20th Century President. He was an authentic thought disciple of America's Founders.

All true and worth repeating until the sheeple finally GET IT.
